Material Sourcing:
- Identify, evaluate, and source high-quality materials required for production or projects.
- Research and select suppliers/vendors based on cost, quality, reliability, and compliance with standards.
- Ensure material availability to meet production schedules, project timelines, and business requirements.

Negotiation and Cost Control:
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers and vendors to achieve the best possible terms for the company.
- Develop and implement cost-saving strategies to ensure the most efficient purchasing practices.
- Analyze market trends to ensure the company is getting the best value for materials purchased.

Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory levels to ensure an adequate supply of materials without overstocking.
- Work closely with production teams to forecast material requirements and manage material stock efficiently.
- Ensure timely replenishment of materials to avoid production delays.

Supplier Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance, ensuring timely deliveries, quality materials, and service excellence.
- Resolve any supply chain issues or disputes that may arise and work toward mutually beneficial solutions.

Procurement Process Management:
- Manage the end-to-end material procurement process, from requisition and purchase order creation to receipt and payment.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procurement regulations, and contract terms during purchasing activities.
- Coordinate with relevant departments (e.g., finance, logistics, production) to ensure smooth and efficient procurement operations.

Quality Control and Compliance:
- Work closely with quality control teams to ensure that materials meet the required specifications and standards.
- Ensure that suppliers comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., safety, environmental regulations).

Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of all material purchases, contracts, and supplier communications.
- Generate regular reports on material purchasing activities, cost analysis, and savings achieved.
- Provide procurement status updates to management, highlighting any issues or opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) or CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) are a plus.

Experience:
- At least 3-5 years of experience in material purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial setting.
- Experience in negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships.

Skills:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to assess and manage supplier performance and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage cost control and budgeting.
- Proficiency in procurement software, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), and ERP systems.
- Knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) and inventory management techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
Preferred:
- Experience with materials in specific industries (e.g., construction, manufacturing, chemicals) depending on company focus.
- Familiarity with quality standards and compliance regulations in relevant industries.
